Everyone, Yes, another job opening where I currently work. (This one is actually my job :-) Feel free to send me any questions about the position. Again, if you have real interest in applying but want to first see what its all about, I might be able to arrange a time for a tour through the place (though I might not be able to do it). There is M$ in the building for administrative stuff, but 99% of all the 'real work' at the facility is with Linux, from 4 monitor workstations through 8 way servers, all supporting aviation forecasting. Steven ______________________________________________________________________________ RS Information Systems is a federal systems integrator and is looking to fill a Principal Consultant position for a contract at the Aviation Weather Center (AWC) in Kansas City. It's a full-time position with benefits (insurance, vacation, 401K with matching, spot bonuses, education assistance, etc.). The job requires significant software development skills within a Linux environment, and will require coordination with many outside interests. The job duties and responsibilities include: * Lead developer in the transition of new technologies from the research community into operations at the AWC. * Point of contact for the continuing development and maintenance of software after it has been transitioned into operations the AWC. Myth TV Box Questions.

My current setup. I have a small Media Center box that I use as a DVR for my main LCD television. This machine is an Intel chipset based Foxconn board with a 2.8Ghz Pentium CPU. It has 1 x 160GB HDD and a DVD-ROM drive. 512MB RAM. NVidia 7900 AGP 8x video card. The tuner is an ATI HDTV Wonder. I am currently running Windows XP Media Center Edition on the machine. As such, I am running the "Kram" driver on the machine which allows Windows MCE to use the analog tuner AND the HD tuner without switching or rebooting. It works really well. So here's my question(s). I am interested in converting to a Linux based DVR like MythTV. My concern is getting the same multi-tuner use out of the ATI HDTV Wonder that I get using the "Kram" Windows driver. Is there anyone out there with some experience with this or is anyone currently using this card as an analog AND HD tuner? -- RtX... Ty Unes - Overland Park, Ks. riverty(a)gmail.com

I know that the LUG is full of bleeding edgers. Has anyone converted over to all electronic banking/finaces? do you receive all your statements through email? What are the pros? cons? thanks

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices DD-WRT will work on v5+ WRT54Gs, just not as well. The v5 versions began the switch away from using Linux by default to using VxWorks on half the ram or half the flash or both, can't remember which at the moment, but it can still be flashed with a minimal build of Linux. However, there are cheap devices on the market today that have considerably better specs that'll work just fine. For instance, Best Buy, CompUSA (assuming they haven't been completely looted yet), and MicroCenter all had the Buffalo WHR-G54S in stock back in Feb. -Sean

OT: using a WRT54G as a wireless bridge?

Does anyone have any experiance with this? I found an older Anandtech article about loading sveasoft (or a varient thereof) onto the linksys router. I thought that i had heard that that was no longer possible with the newer linksys stuff? Anyone know?

Weird Redhat project?

Has anyone else seen this "Mugshot" project that seems to be from Redhat? It's some sort of open source social networking thing. Linkage at http://mugshot.org/. There's a Linux client so it can't be all bad! -- Kyle Sexton
