How many people are programming in APL today?
APL !! I thought I was the only one left that ever used that. I started with APL, APL\360 actually on an IBM 360/40. Those were the days.
Selectric terminal on a what, 36 baud accoustic-coupled modem (we upgraded to a hardwired one later in the year), dialed into the -experimental- Time Sharing system in Red Hook, NY.
This was the Shawnee Mission School District's 360/40. Selectric 2741 terminals ran at 134.5 baud, acoustic-coupled modem in our case. Now you know why that weird speed existed. I still have my original APL\360 book.
Here we go. You may now fork this thread to 'SUBJECT: Reminiscing Obsolete Programming Languages'. ;)
