Below is the output from root doing an ls -l of a specific file and of the directory... Anyone ever seen this before? a rebuild tree from a booted knoppix disk fixed things for awhile and now this is showing up again. thanks

Stick with ext3 next time. Reiserfs has had a number of bugs introduced to it by SuSE guys tinkering with it.
