Does anyone have any experiance with this? I found an older Anandtech article about loading sveasoft (or a varient thereof) onto the linksys router. I thought that i had heard that that was no longer possible with the newer linksys stuff?
Anyone know?
I have a couple WRT54Gs, sorry I don't have the version handy. They are at least a year and half old. Out of the box, they would not do wireless bridge, but with third-party firmware I managed to get it working. I was running Talisman from Sveasoft for that functionality. I had problems with losing connectivity and no longer needed the bridging after moving, so I switched back to the factory firmware.
YMMV.

I think the factory firmware on those devices is so limited there is really no reason to ever switch back. Right now I have dd-wrt running on mine. I have been toying with the idea of trying this one called tomato.

It should be able to do the wireless bridging just fine. It even has a nice little flash tutorial on how to set it up.
