Hmmm... this is disturbing a function that does something when the software is not installed rather than complain that the software isn't installed. This sounds like a flaw to me. Very disturbing.

Justin, said this is an ubuntu distro (debian based). Could this just be an old version that is just for the install process? Or possibly something the forgot to upgrade/remove from the default system?
Justin, can you give us some information on the file you were using to format that drive with? Maybe attach it here?
