Guess it's sort of the bombshell of today: Apple is dropping IBM chips and moving to Intel.
Live coverage of the Job's keynote is available here:

He said that they've been able to compile OS X on an intel chip for five years in preparation for this move.
Now that's pretty cool
Josh
Now, the real question is, will users be able to run OSX on their own hardware, or will we have to wait six months for someone to finish a hack?

Whoops, first post went awry.
"After Jobs' presentation, Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller addressed the issue of running Windows on Macs, saying there are no plans to sell or support Windows on an Intel-based Mac. "That doesn't preclude someone from running it on a Mac. They probably will," he said. "We won't do anything to preclude that." However, Schiller said the company does not plan to let people run Mac OS X on other computer makers' hardware. "We will not allow running Mac OS X on anything other than an Apple Mac.""

Well, since MacOS is just a Unix clone I think I'll stay with Linux (Gentoo) on my Intel and AMD machines.
