Greetings,
I am in need of an HD for a older thinkpad. Currently, I have a 4GB in my 380Z, which is getting quite flaky. I managed to bring it up under an "init 1", mount the drives, selectly execute init scripts and transfer important data to a backup, but I'm afraid it may never boot unattended ever again without a replacement HD. Anyone have any they want to get rid of?
Thanks, Brian JD

I'm actually in a somewhat similar situation-- except my laptop won't boot attended or not. :/ Haven't had the time to look into it in detail yet, nor is it a major concern since it's a mere 133 MHz...
Not me, but i find that newegg.com has some pretty decent prices...
I paid a pretty decent discount on a new 40G hard drive for my HP Pavilion a few weeks ago from them.. normal cost was upwards $140 or better, I only paid about $80. -- Joe Brouhard Certified Trainer Demo Team Captain 1st Degree Black Belt Recommended Chan's ATA Leadership and Black Belt Academy jbrouhard@chansata.com

Are you in a situation where you need a drive for an older laptop that has one of them "8.4GB or less" requirements?
I know Hypertech has decent prices on used 10GB laptop drives, perhaps you could get one working in your laptop with some wasted space.

There's a place called 'Computer Outlet' at 77th and Quivira that deals with lots of used laptops, and I know they have a surplus of laptop harddrives of various sizes - check there, I'm sure you can get one for pretty cheap (~$25-$30?)
