SBC DSL Linksys WRT54G router
The Linksys is setup with static IP for port forwarding to support an
application on a
Windows XP box.
I can boot to a Knoppix CD and access the Internet just fine but
cannot access using the Gentoo install CD.
I snipped all irrelevant information. Based on what you are telling us above, both your Windows XP and your Linux systems should be able to see the internet WITHOUT any sort of knowledge of the ADSL. This is because the Linksys router acts as a sort of 'mediator' ... it does its authentication and then provides standard TCP/IP to the rest of the network. Is this not the case?
