My kids and I built a live trap. I decided to make it linux powered. It uses a single board computer to monitor a laser beam. When the beam is broken, the computer shuts the trap doors. It was a neat little project and I got to learn how to control things with a serial port. If anyone would like to see it, I put a write up at www.windmeadow.com
