Job Description
Bass Pro is looking for a contractor to help support their eCommerce
DevOps/Infrastructure team. This team specifically supports both
basspro.com [1] and cabelas.com [2] and works very closely with the Dev
team.
POSITION SUMMARY (Objective/Purpose of Position):
We are seeking a DevOps Systems Engineer to help us build and operate
functional systems to ensure site reliability and improve software
delivery workflows. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for
deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and working
with our software team to implement integrations that meet their needs.
If you have a solid background in software engineering and are familiar
with HCL Commerce, React, and cloud infrastructure we would love to
speak with you.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies.
* Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and
self-healing on a cloud platform.
* Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes.
* Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration,
system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance
monitoring.
* Continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards and
make recommendations for improvement.
* Work with others in cross-functional teams to integrate new deployment
processes and strategies to meet feature requirements.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability
Engineer, or similar software / support role.
* Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic,
DataDog etc.
* Experience in Linux Systems Administration
* Experience provisioning Java environments.
* Experience with Cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
* Experience with Ansible, Python, Bash, or other automation languages.
Preferred
* Experience in IBM Websphere or HCL Commerce
* Experience with Kubernetes engineering / provisioning
* Experience with GitOps methodologies
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* More of a Support role and keeping up with operations - Keep the
lights on
* Need to be familiar working in a Java Environment and Linux Redhat
(System Admin experience)
* Ansible is a must - Main tool they use for scripting and automation.
* Debugging, troubleshooting, provisioning experience
* Understand Cloud Operations - Mainly in Azure. Do not need an expert
* Nice to have - Kubernetes, IBM Webshpere or HCL Commerce, GitHub
* Looking for a Mid-Level Engineer - Will also look at Sr level
candidates as well.
* Might need to work on call on the weekend every 6 weeks - not 100%
sure because his team might cover it.
