Stream audio from computer to android

I'm apparently looking to do the opposite of what the rest of the world wants to do. I'm interested in using my android phone (2.1) as an audio sink for my computer and create a sort of poor-mans bluetooth headset. I've already got the phone setup with Boxee WiFi Remote, and the next logical step is to just go ahead and use the phone to hear the audio too. There's all sorts of A2DP tutorials out there for making a computer receive the stream from the device by mimicking a headset. I can't find a source for getting the phone to do that. I'm sure once the phone broadcasts that it can receive A2DP the computer should just pick it up as another audio device. Anyone done it or have an idea where to look? Should I try streaming PulseAudio over WiFi and somehow tuning in to that with the phone? Jon.

hdb on server

In cleaning up our server at kclug.org I have disabled the nameserver. It seems excessively redundant to me, but if anyone objects we can put it back. I also notice that hdb appears to be redundant - possibly an older drive than sda that the current system was partly recovered from. If we have no need of it, I think I would unmount it, even though it really doesn't make any difference being there. Sources are currently pointed to stable with volitile, and I recently got clamav to update to volitile rather than being stuck on an old unstable version. As packages catch up to the older unstable packages I hope to migrate the system completely to stable. Suggestions are welcome, indignant rants expected.

Virtual Technology

Do I have this right? NX is a technology that makes remote X windows perform better. So you can use NX to have, say, hundreds of people logged in and running applications on big honkin Linux server and the applications would be work pretty responsively. So, in a sense, this setup would be a bit like Citrix, only a hell of a lot cheaper? Is there a better open source equivalent to Citrix? I couldn't find it with just a few minutes on Google. NX seems like it might make the same thing possible. Are there tools to manage those hundreds of users logged in like there is with Citrix? Xen appears to be the open source equivalent to VMWare? Then there's KVM too, right? Just exploring possibilities here and trying to get my mind around the open source virtualization world. Let me know what you think. Peace, Jim

Setting up a UI on industrial control machines.

I've got a line on someone local who needs a person to set up the user interface on an industrial machine, eg. on a PLC. I have no idea about the language they're using but they already have someone doing the main programming and they just need someone to build the UI. I don't think it's terribly complex but the programmer doesn't want to do it. Contact me and I can pass along email or phone numbers. Jon.

Drawing/Writing Tablets in GNU+Linux

I'm looking for input from people who have used drawing tablets in GNU+Linux. (I'm not talking about tablet PCs, but about the input device you use with an electronic pen. An example is a Wacom Tablet.) I've used the DigiPro WP8060 USB tablet I got off woot.com some time ago. I thought it was OK, for the $40 it cost me, but I'm now looking for one for annotating work documents. I have used the program 'Xournal', but am also looking for advice if anyone has used similar software. Documents will arrive in docx or pdf format, and need to go out on one of those two as well. I like how Xournal saves all annotation work in a separate .xoj file and allows removal of individual strokes at a later time. This tablet will be used at a desktop, so weight and power are not a concern. It is not likely to be used for artwork, so pressure sensitivity is also not a concern.
