Small Rack

I have a 3 foot standard 19" rack cabinet that I no longer need. It's 37" tall, 14.5" deep, 22" wide, has cooling louvers on the side and a 16"x11" hinged door in the top. Currently mounted on 3/4" plywood with furniture casters, has three shelves mounted. No mounting holes at back. Best offer by next weekend or it goes to the D.A.V.

Here's the deal: you live in America, land of the business deal. OFX has been around for ages, so long as you used Microsoft or Quicken products. You've heard of those, right? To have free and open systems, you'd have to live in communist Europe, where they built a platform known generally as HCBI/FinTS. Frankly, regex is dramatically underengineered for this stuff. I've received lots of documents via HTTPS that were encrypted. None from email or USPS. Frankly, it's a false equivalence, since USPS documents are a liability; you have to trust both the chain of posession, including postal inspectors, mail carriers, and an unlocked postbox, and the shredder to destroy the junkmail credit card offers people can steal out of your trash if you're not careful. That case of a Teacher not comprehending Linux seems to warrant Hackerdom's attention.

Recently, some folks were recalling the weirdly strange events caused by a schoolteacher seeing Linux for the first time: http://linuxlock.blogspot.com/2008/12/linux-stop-holding-our-kids-back.html We've had a few years of the economy getting so nuked that paying for software from vendors demanding per-seat fees is literally impossible in many educational and charity situations. Which of course, mandates a choice between either having NO computers in use- or the use of software that's de minimus -cost free, and after that, the "Open Source" concept becomes a feature as opposed to the liabilities inherent in "Closed Source" software. Frankly speaking- I consider using ONLY "Closed Source" software in education to be made of Pure Fail. In a reality accepting society- we'd have the whole range of totally free to totally unfree software presented to our children, in a neutral fashion. Except? If you go to a school board and suggest anything beyond their comfortable, shrinkwrapped, high dollars per seat software,. it's not unexpected to replicate what Helios encountered. The whole reason this is of potentially existential importance to ALL of Hackerdom is what our future will be- or NOT be if we do not teach our children to teach their TEACHERS. Oh, call it "Worldview Hacking" if we want to have a geeky pride in how we do it:) Things like showing a demo of Puppy Linux might be "Less Scary" if someone first gave a demo of Portable Firefox on a comfortably familiar to that school- thumbdrive device. They see the "wow- it works" effect in their comfortable Windows based sandbox. Sadly, more schools still use IE than anything else so there's still a risk of Xenophobia being triggered. Hacking the Worldview of Education is something that also falls under my favorite concept "Leading By Example" IF we teach our children to be an ambassador for everything WE want our- and THEIR literal future to be, their example becomes what can lead us to a better world. I have 2 Grandchildren in a public school, and scarcely a week goes by that does not produce some story displaying a stunning "Lack Of Clue" in their teachers or the school itself. In handing this over for hopefully constructive comments, I close with a question and Book recommend. Do you think your life would have been different in a world where Linux/ "Open Source" type Worldviews had been taught? Bank websites

I've been with a particular bank for some time, and really liked their online banking when I started. HTML only, no iframes, csv downloads, quick, few images. I may and or may not have been able to automate things with curl...... Anyway. It has gone to shit over the last year or so with their outsourcing various products. There are now 5 or 6 separate domain names involved, and popup windows for various functionality. Do not want. So I'm looking for a new bank to move a small savings, all my checking, all credit cards, and all my retirement to. I want to be able to see all transactions from any account on the same website. I do not want monthly CC bills that I have to send checks to pay. All bills and statements must be available electronically, in Free formats. Extra bonus points for SENDING them to me so I don't have to log in to get them. I need the ability to issue checks to payees electronically. I need to ability to download transaction histories in csv. I will not accept any bank that even hints at using flash, java, silverlight, or installing plugins to use their site. If can't have any obviously negligent security bugs. And I don't really want dongles, keyfobs, or second authentication factors that involve human interaction. Bonus points for clientside ssl certs. It also must be a WEBsite, not an IE site. All that said, I realise I will probably have to compromise a bit, well, a lot. I'm asking for recommendations. If you have really pleasent experiences using your bank's webinterface, I'd like to know what you like about it, and who the bank is. I don't care a lot about interest rates, or branch locations and hours. Because this is a bit sensitive of a topic, I do not expect many people to provide that information on list. If you would like to provide it anonymously, you may do so by posting it to any google-indexable place on the web, under any name, via tor if you like. Once I pick a bank, I will be moving everything from my old one to it, and letting them know what about their website made me leave.
