I also side with Charles, you don't need to inject a Linux solution into 
everything . . . hell, even an X10 camera setup would be better than what 
you can typically do with computers.

On the sound thing -- I don' t think they are concerned with the inbound 
sound in the control room, I suspect they are wanting to get rid of the 
performance side glass to remove any reflections of sound off it and make 
the room more acoustically "dead".
