That would perhaps be me.  I used a default RedHat 7.3 (with current 
updates) to install horde and imp.  The default installation of Apache 
included php.

Are you certain the PHP package you have is Solaris 9 compatible?  I 
know there are differences between Solaris and Linux but don't know if 
they're enough to cause something to fail to compile.
