LinuxFest 2000 Update Part 6

Hey everyone. Yes, I am back on here - mainly because I had to speak up
and tell KCLUG and KULUA that both groups did one hell of a job. Bruce
Perens had a lot of nice things to say on /. about both groups, and he
even mentioned Hal in particular. That says a lot to me that these guys
had fun even though it was very rough going.

I was not at the show any other days, but I enjoyed the few hours
I was there today. It was cool to hear emmett's talk. I am sorry that
things did not go as well as I had hoped - and I am sure you all expected
as much out of this thing as I did. Unfortunately it was not that way.

I have been thinking about all this ever since emmett posted the story on
/. last night and I saw that this thing was in trouble - this should have
flown and taken off like a rocket. People should have had to wait in line
for 4 hours to get in the door. But, something nasty happened. I don't
know what because I was not an active participant, but I will say I hope
nobody is discouraged from attempting to do another show in the
future. Something like this can fly. We may be in Kansas City, but we are
not *that* bass ackerds!

So, my hat is off to both LUGs. You guys deserve one massive pat on the
back.

Now, anyone know anything about Windows Millenium launch? Is there going
to be a demo day? I heard that the launch date was some time in
September(?) but am not sure if they are having a dog and pony show
downtown or not.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the next meeting....

If Bill Gates had a nickle for every time Windows crashed...
Oh, wait, he does!
