If the Windows machine is cheaper, get the Windows machine.  There's no
reason to pay more for what's essentially the "no OS" option (having Linux
pre-installed is a convenience).

As for future purchases, if you can find a place that sells PC laptops with
16x10 displays, let me know.  The only vendor I'm aware of that still offers
them is Apple, hence why I only use Apple laptops (and would even were I
running Windows or Linux exclusively).
