Can you describe your problem in more concrete terms than "over scan"?

Is the image aspect ratio correct, or is it "stretched" horizontally or
vertically?

Is all of the X desktop displayed on-screen, or are parts of it
'clipped' by the monitor's bezel.

If parts of the display are clipped, is it horizontal, vertical, or both?
