Noting ungainly about it. The originator should be using a personal computer
or laptop when sending SMTP messages to a mobile subscriber. That is why you
use address books.

  What an ungainly concoction!  For the very devices that have limited
memory and bandwidth, they force a long email address on you!
Virgin Mobile's techies apparently understand this, and got a separate,
SHORT domain name for such purposes: number at vmobl.com, and since I'm not
charged to receive messages, I have my IM Away Message set up with a mailto:
link to my phone so anyone can text me whenever they need to.  It's come in
handy several times already.
