Isn't that supposed to be happening real-soon-now (in geologic time)? 
IIRC, Missouri is sitting on top of the largest fault line in the US, 
although it's also one of the most stable.  The last time it let loose, 
however, church bells reportedly rang as far east as Philladelphia, and 
the Mississippi river changed course.

Something to think about the next time you head to the Ozarks...
