Jobs: what a consortium?

I, too, have been dying for additional contract clients. There seems to
be a sufficient quantity of people on this list int he same boat -- not
enough market penetration.

What about forming a consortium of independant contract computer
professionals in the KC area? The consortium's sole responsibility would
be marketing.

I can envision a web page that lists available contractors that can meet
a specific need; once people are connected with the contractor, a follow
up, feedback email is fired off to "rate" your contractor's performance.
This information is returned to the consortium's web page and those
ranking higher appear first in search results.

Good/Bad idea?
