That's what I did, when I got laid off at Sprint...but just recently my
only really steady client (the one that was paying most of my bills!)
filed for chapter 13, and the bank closed their doors.  That put me out
about 1/2 of what they owed me for the latest work I did for them, and
shut down another $3000 or so I had lined up with them.

I'm a techie, not a sales or marketing guy...it's hard for me to get
clients without using contacts I have to network to gain new clients...

the pay sucks but i love the work...
