I read some stuff on the SANE site a while back and I think that just 
about any scanner on SCSI or USB can be used, its the parallel stuff 
that's been harder.  Some parallel scanners are similar to SCSI ones on 
the inside and those work better or are better supported. I could be 
wrong though.
