You know, this discussion reminds me of the one that happened when modems went 
about 9600 "baud" about whether anything above 2400 was truely measurable in 
baud, because baud referred to a specific type of keying, and the modulated 
FSKey technology above 2400 didn't really count. 
 
Whatever. 
 
My cable modem did up to 3,000,000 baud.
