Check out this page.

http://support.sbcglobal.net/dsl/

It sounds like it will work with linux and routers after all it lists PPPoE
setup under "Router FAQ" & "Enter your Member ID and password in your
router"

Does anyone have the SBC Yahoo DSL (they are running a promotion 760-1.5
down and 256 up for $44/mo)

This is scary:
	DSL Connection Manager
	and
	Install SBC Yahoo! DSL:

Where it says you have to let the CD setup your account.

"Note: Do not manually connect to the registration server by
providing the generic SBC Yahoo! Registration
username/password and registration sever URL. "

 	      No web site registration

"...You will need to run the SBC Yahoo! DSL Client Kit and
register your account in order to surf the Internet. "

	and
"Test Failed" in DSL Connection Manager
This and the previous "Install..." infer that if you don't
meet there system requirements connection manager will not
even proceed to the point of registering you.

I assume the connection manager is not required after setup, and once you
setup your dsl you can use any PPPoE setup. It just plays with your system
changing email user info (even netscape), and adding software when you
register.

Tempted to go static, but get the run
around so far, and no promotion...less speed for more $$$.
