I'm curious about what else FPE offers besides the ease of publishing to the 
server - that can be done, even FrontPage does it via FPT if the extensions are 
not present on the server, and other publishing packages do too.

I believe that part of it may be Visual Basic scripting on the server - so 
theoretically you could do an "AddHandler VisualBasic" in Apache to take care 
of that.  That may be part of what the "Extensions" for Apache do.

Microsoft's "technical information" about what FPE does is just sales drek 
glowing on about what basic HTML does - "Put! Your! Documents! On! The! Web! 
For! Others! To! See!" crud.  Doesn't say what they really do.

I don't necessarily want to support FrontPage clients, but I want to be able to 
tell a client "you can do the same thing with these other tools, and it will 
work better for everybody, even non-MS users".
