I found UltraVNC.... don't know how good it is for you.... I think it is 
still lacking working Linux software. Which is weird since it is open 
source and on sourceforge...

It will work with other VNC versions, but offers some additional graphic 
hooks for Windows users... supports File Transfer, single window mode, 
and Chat. So if you are in a multi OS environment it might be an option 
for some systems. Heck those unemployed programers may even be able to 
develop a linux version.

I don't know if the Java version has these extra features.
