The message you replied to had little to do with your question.

Linux can run ELF, A.out, and MISC binaries and should work just fine as
long as it was writen to SyS V standards and the required libraries are
present. glibc is pretty standard. You can do a 'file binaryname' on the
file to find out what kind of binary it is and an 'ldd binaryname' to
find out what it links to.
