Greetings,
I was taught in school that the origin of the hand
shake came from colonial time. You remember; when
soldiers would walk towards each other in a big empty
field taking turns shooting at one another!( how
stupid was that)
Anyway, when one side would decide to surrender, they
would lay down their weapons and walk to the other
side with their hands extended, thus surrendering.
Tha other side would except the surrender and the hand
shake as the closing of a deal.
I have since then not looked at shaking hands as a
greeting or something you do when you meat some one
but rather something you do when you have come to an
agreement.
Kind Regards,
