Scanner setup

Tonite, someone was good enough to point out the SANE tool for Scanner 
support on Linux.  Sane appears to handle scanners on SCSI and USB but 
not Parallel.  Any thoughts on getting a UMax 2000P Parallel scanner to 
work?
