Maximum memory usable in RedHat 7.x

One more question...

My SGI 1400 system based on the Intel SC450NX board can support memory from 128MB to
4000MB. My system came with 2500MB (2.5GB) of RAM.

Back in 1999, the system was independently (3rd Party) certified for RedHat 6.0 but the
certification notes describe a memory problem. When booting a machine with 1GB or more
RAM, a boot paramenter MEM=960M was required because linux could not properly deal with
more than that amount of memory (on that system).

Does anybody know if RH7 fixed this issue? I will find out soon enough, but hoped to hear
from someone with similar experiences before I begin the RH7 install.

Best regards,
