why do this? (was re: DOS emulation under Windows XP)

Is it possible to port this program to a newer OS? If one is going to go to this much trouble to 
run it, chances are others may be interested in running it, or a version of it. Just curious, no 
need for an answer: what does the program do? Is it worth porting?
