SBC DSL - is it PPoE? External modem?

I have SBC DSL (unfortuantely) and it is PPPoE on an external modem. 
You'll need PPPoE support on your firewall/router or the RoaringPenguin 
packages for Linux.

Don't know. I wouldn't think so since many DSL users can occupy the same 
appartment building.
