Installation Comparison

Pretty interesting, but of course biased for Linux.   All the same, I'm 
quite pleased with how fast some distros are making it easier for the 
low-end user.  Better documentation and better support for sound are my 
two last major gripes.  It took me probably a week to figure out that 
Mandrake8 had root permissions on the sound devices.

He's giving his girlfriend a Sony Vaio?  I'm not on that side of the 
fence but I'd consider it for a free laptop :)
