We did some simple benchmark testing of JVMs for our product. Linux performance is pretty horrible as compared to Windows and Solaris. Our server literally ran 1/3 the speed on Linux (simple transactions). Does anyone know of any configuration tricks to get Java on Linux optimized? I tried all 3 Linux JVMs and performance was comparable between them all.
