Do you have one monitor or two? Your email says two, but I guess you only
have one. Have you tried an inexpensive switch box? I have four CPU's
hooked up to one monitor, keyboard and mouse. You can pick up a 4 port for
around $50, and I am sure a 2 port would be even cheaper.

Subject: Console

Hello:

I would like to know if a Linux box can be accessed
through the hyperterminal program in windows. In other
words, use Linux as a console. I only have two
monitors and it's a pain in the rear to be unpluging
the monitor, and keyboard from on computer to the
other. Trying to avoid this... I know, is lazyness.

I already tried using a null modem cable from com1 (in
Linux) to com1 (in Win) but no luck. I don't get any
communication bet. the two.

If this is possible, then are there any espicific
configurations needed in the kernel or Linux box
itself.

I am running RH 6.2.

Thanks in advance.

-Jose
