Well the one thing you could check would be the top 
level domain.
http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm
Remember that these can not be taken as gospel.

You could also take the ip address to the three 
regional nic's to see if that gives you any information.

More than that, would be rather difficult.
