Actually this sounds like it might be it.  I haven't got far enough to
worry about whether Linux sees the memory -- the BIOS never does.  I yanked
out one of the 64MB sticks and now it sees 16MB.   (Down from 32Mb with (2)
64's.)  Weird eh?
