hello to all from a Linux curious Windows slave

I will try the /mbr trick, again. Actually I already tried it to no
avail because I remembered hearing about that trick for a dead HD --
one that could not respond to the DOS/WIN boot and left the computer
in suspended animation.

I don't know why it didn't work. Maybe I accidently used mbr
instead. Whatever the case, the computer didn't complain.

I'll let you know if it works. My goal, if it is a wise one, is to
split the 2.5 in half or so 1 gig for windows and 1.5 gig for Linux.

If all goes well, and I get to donate my windows apps. to friends
because I can get top drawer Linux equivalents, I may even let Linux
conquer the whole hard disk.

You mean.... Microsoft isn't the world leader in technological
innovation? I thought I wanted Linux 'cause its free and I am a
cheapskate. ;)
