video card recommendations wanted

I would personally recommend the Matrox line of video cards.  Try the
G200,as   they are great performers in 2D.  They are also at the top of the
list for supported cards for multi-head display systems when using Metro-X
commercial X server or the new XFree86 ver. 4.
