linux on a alpha

It depends on the architecture of the machine. If it uses a TurboChannel
bus, your best bet is NetBSD. If it's a PCI bus, Linux may work. Is this
a 3000/300, or just a 300X? What color is it?

You will, of course, have to check out:

comp.os.linux.alpha

http://www.redhat.com/support/hardware/alpha/6.2/index.html

I have RH6.2 images downloaded already, plus the current Compaq compiler
set (but you should register and download that yourself, just to increase
their hit count)

Feel free to contact me off-group. I'm the resident Alpha dude.
