inittab missing, what do I do?

Thanks for the help.  I will definitely be purchasing a UPS.  In the meantime, I
went ahead and reinstalled, since my sound configuration was fubar anyway.  The
only personal stuff I lost was a "Hello World!" and the DOOM source ;)
