Screen replacement on a MyTouch 3G Slide

I replaced a screen on my wife's phone and now it won't get past the MyTouch
splash screen. The bootloader says there was a touch panel failure. After
checking and rechecking the connections, I can't find the problem. Would
anyone be able to help me with this? I would really appreciate it!
