RealTek WiFi is community maintained with occasional help in the form of
spec and register dumps from the company. Things have improved in that the
drivers are based on the shared 80211mac kernel infrastructure these days
but I would be absolutely certain that the specific model is known to work
and work without crashing after an hours of use, before purchasing.

This in contrast to Intel which publishes their WiFi drivers and gets them
upstreamed in the kernel before the silicon ever hits the market:
