   Location: Kansas City, MO

   Position: Linux System Administrator

   Duration: 3 to 6 month CFH

   Start Date: ASAP

   Bill Rate: competitive

   Pay Rate: competitive

    

   Description:

   This resource will help to maintain the server and technology
   infrastructure.  Responsible for keeping hardware and software platforms
   up and running, implementing new platforms and developing documentation of
   the systems.  Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with
   computer systems.  Introducing and integrating new technologies into
   existing data center environments.  Performing routine audits of systems
   and software.  Performing backups.  Applying operating system updates,
   patches, and configuration changes.  Installing and configuring new
   hardware and software.  Adding, removing, or updating user account
   information, resetting passwords, etc.  Answering technical queries. 
   Assuring systems are secure.  Documenting the configuration of the
   system.  Troubleshooting any reported problems.  System performance
   tuning.  Insuring that the network infrastructure is up and running.

    

   Required:

   ·         1 to 3 years+ working in a Linux Server environment, Red Hat
   operating system

   ·         Basic understanding of LAMP/RoR stack and troubleshooting pieces

   ·         Fluency working at the command line and using a non-GUI editor

   ·         Working knowledge of a package management tool ( yum, apt,
   up2date )

   ·         1 yr+ experience working in a Xen/VMWare virtualization
   environment

   ·         Ability to troubleshoot a web based application stack.

   ·         Ability to produce and maintain documentation in a manner that
   takes nominal technical knowledge to understand.
