Within that time frame it should be possible to boot a LiveCD, install
the OS and reboot into the fresh install.  That would give an easy way
to demonstrate what is possible "out of the box".  I'm sure one of the
main problems many people have with a switch is "what next" problems.
If you are able to show  that many distros include useful apps as part
of the normal install, it will help.  Showing OO.o, as well as FireFox
and The Gimp/etc are included and are not separately needed parts that
have to be added later can help a lot.  By showing how quick and easy
a LiveCD install is you will be able to demonstrate how much more is
included over default Windows, and how comparable the features are to
OS X.  If possible you might be able to show how easy it is to setup
XGL/AIGLX and Compiz/Beryl with a recent distro.  That wold be one way
to show how to get some of the OS X/Vista eyecandy for free, and on
hardware that is WAY below the Vista specs for similar features.
College students love free.
