If you need drivers, chances are you're not going to be able to boot to the 
device.  It needs to be accessible at the BIOS level to boot from it.

If you could get the bootloader with an initrd file on a BIOS accessible 
device, you could put the rest of the OS on whatever kind of device you can 
find drivers for.
