Third Choice of Linux Distro?

I'm sure I'd run into the question I don't know how to answer, like the old Debian install.
Gentoo was like that.  If I hadn't had the instructions, it wouldn't have happened.  As it was, I 
used a release candidate and the docs were a bit off.
