perl question

I have perl 5.8.0 installed in Xandros.  I am trying to install the
HTML::Parser module.  However, every time I try to run make I get the
following error:

-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -O3   -DVERSION="3.35"

-DMARKED_SECTION Parser.c
/bin/sh: line 1: cc: command not found
make: *** [Parser.o] Error 127

any help would be greatly appreciated.
