HP brings in $2.5 billion in Linux revenue. Wonder what the
net profit was? Also some interesting things in the article.
Wonder who the editor was?
"In addition, HP is now selling several new Linux-based
collections of hardware and software. These collections
include database software from Oracle's MySQL and Web
server software from BEA Systems, JBoss and Apache."
What? Oracle bought MySQL? When?

In other news that impacts M$ at the moment, but may have some
impact on Linux later.

The $512 Million patent infringement stands and M$ is prohibited
from distributing any code that violates the patent. That has been
put on hold by the judge though until the appeals process has been
played out, but they must pay $45 million "prejudgment interest"
for the infringement while the appeal is mounted.

'Microsoft spokesman Lou Gellers said, "We don't think we
violated anything even if it were valid."'

Ok so they can take and use anyone's patents, but nobody better take
and use theirs? Hmmm... interesting logic.

"Three OS's from corporate-kings in their towers of glass,
Seven from valley-lords where orchards used to grow,
Nine from dotcoms doomed to die,
one from the dark lord Gates on his dark throne
In the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie.
one OS to rule them all, one OS to find them,
one OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie." john thrum
