RedHat install on Microtel SYSMAR 737 Lindows box

Let me clarify my previous post.
I'm not knocking RH, I like RH as an enduser OS.
I'm not saying it doesn't install or work, just that I find
it flaky with certain HW. For example my no name nic with has
a kernel compile option and it's own kernel module. The stock
RH8 kernel doesn't have this compile option turned on. So,
first thing I want to do if I want to access my LAN is recompile
the kernel. Then I have to download the kernel module source into
the kernel directory, because RH8 doesn't include that particular
driver. But wait catch-22 can't download because I can't use my
NIC, I can't use my NIC 'til I download. Of course, now that I know
about this issue I can build a driver disk, which won't help me during
install because the kernel isn't compiled to recognize the NIC.
No I like RH8 and it installed fine, but it has some flaky issues
for at least one of my systems at home, and the majority of my $5 NICs.
So if you have any HW on a system that has special compile features in
the
kernel, it may or may not be turned on in the default stock kernel. That
is my definition of flaky.
